About this planter
Request a Site Assessment & Written Quote
This is a concept-stage, made-to-order project. Direct online purchasing is paused.
Any displayed catalogue amount is a provisional reference only, not a confirmed offer or installed quotation. Final scope, equipment, installation, delivery, taxes and price must be agreed in a written quote after site review. Standard planter delivery and ready-to-plant messages elsewhere in this template do not apply to this solar sauna project.
Inspired by Nature. Powered by the Sun.
Designed for nature lovers, Coastline Cedar SOLAR™ brings together the warmth of cedar, electric sauna heating and a site-specific solar-and-battery system. Enjoy your sauna without burning wood or producing wood smoke during use.
Solar-equipped configurations are designed to use on-site renewable energy. Actual solar contribution and off-grid availability depend on location, weather, shading, system size and usage. Solar Ready does not include solar panels or battery storage.
Coastline Cedar SOLAR™ combines a highly insulated outdoor cedar sauna with a site-specific solar array, battery storage and a 240V sauna heating system. The True Off-Grid configuration is designed to operate without a normal permanent utility connection.
Preliminary design targets — SOLAR Compact
- Capacity target: 2 adults, subject to final bench layout and heater clearances
- Finished hot-room size: approximately 60 in W × 48 in D × 82 in H
- Base hot-room volume: approximately 137 ft³
- Glazing target: approximately 24 × 72 in tempered glass door plus a small side window around 14 × 30 in
- Heater target: Approximately 4.5 kW, 240V electric heating; final heater, controls, glazing-adjusted sizing and applicable Canadian approvals to be confirmed before procurement
- Interior: cedar cladding, full-width upper bench, lower foot bench / step and warm low-energy lighting
- Battery target: approximately 14.3 kWh nominal storage; exact battery and matched inverter configuration subject to manufacturer certification and installation approval
- Solar target: approximately 5.4 kW PV, subject to site solar study
- Inverter target: 120/240V split-phase; final model selected as part of a verified matched energy-storage system
- Power equipment: a matched inverter and battery system in a manufacturer-compliant, protected and temperature-managed location outside the hot room; final configuration and installation approval required
Controls and cold-weather planning
The heater, controller, sensors and power equipment must be selected and located within their manufacturer-rated environmental limits. Electronic controls alone do not establish suitability for freezing conditions.
Three power configurations
- Solar Ready — prepared for a future solar and battery installation.
- Solar Hybrid — solar + battery with utility backup.
- True Off-Grid — solar + battery intended for standalone operation without a normal grid connection, subject to site-specific design, approved equipment and an agreed usage profile.
Extended Autonomy
An expanded design target is approximately 7.2 kW PV + 28.6 kWh nominal battery storage. Final autonomy remains site-specific and depends on weather, shading, panel orientation and usage. Neither configuration guarantees daily winter use or uninterrupted solar-only operation.
Pricing is by written quote following site, solar, structural, electrical and installation review. Extended storage and solar capacity are quoted separately; no upgrade price is confirmed on this page.
Technical dimensions are preliminary design targets, not permit drawings. Final heater sizing includes glazing and other non-insulated surfaces. Solar autonomy depends on weather, shading, orientation, battery state of charge and usage. Electrical and energy-storage equipment must be approved for the installed configuration and installed under applicable permits and codes. Concept image shown is a design rendering.
