FAQ

Cedar planter questions, answered.

Sizes, custom builds, materials, drainage, delivery across Greater Vancouver, and how to take care of cedar over time.

We have seven standard sizes covering patio, balcony, large outdoor, raised garden, privacy, commercial, and custom. Standard sizes start at 24″ long for compact patios and go up to 60″+ for privacy planters and commercial use.

Yes. Custom is one of the things we do best. Send us the length, width, and height you need — plus a photo of the space if you have one — and we’ll come back with a sketch, quote, and timeline within 1–2 business days.

Kiln-dried Western Red Cedar, locally sourced. Western Red Cedar is naturally rot-resistant, contains natural oils that repel insects, and ages beautifully in our wet climate.

It’s one of the best woods you can use outdoors. Cedar is rot-resistant without chemical treatment, holds up to our Pacific Northwest weather, and ages to a soft silver-grey if left untreated or keeps its warm tone if sealed.

Yes. Every planter is built with proper drainage — drilled holes plus an interior shelf or slatted base depending on the model. We can also customize drainage on request.

Most standard cedar builds are ready in about 2–3 days after details are confirmed. For larger projects, the timeline depends on project size, measurements, site access, and installation scope.

Yes, for orders of 5+ matching planters. This is common for restaurants, cafés, strata properties, and townhouse complexes. Send us the details and we’ll quote.

Yes — this is a big part of our work. We build commercial-grade cedar planters for restaurants, cafés, hotels, retail storefronts, and strata properties across Greater Vancouver, with volume pricing on 5+ units.

We offer three finishes: natural (unfinished), clear outdoor sealer (preserves the warm cedar tone), and custom stain colour (your choice — confirmed before production).

Yes. Our balcony planters are sized to fit standard condo balconies and built with reinforced bases for upper-floor use. We can size custom planters to fit standard elevator clearances.

Cedar is low-maintenance. Left natural, it weathers to a soft grey — no action needed. If you want to keep the warm cedar tone, re-apply a clear outdoor sealer every 1–2 years. Empty and clean the planter once a year in spring to extend life.
